LAN party.

(This was written last night at about 11pm - apparently I really WAS tired, because I fell asleep in the middle of writing it...)

Holy cats I'm tired.

We had a LAN party in the Mosaic Common house today for the folks I play WoW with. No, it wasn't just another episode of the guild - we don't have quite so many socially inept folks.

Anyway - it took the whole day, plus half of yesterday doing setup - and by gum it sure as heck felt like running a convention. Just a small one (20-ish people, 20 computers, plus power, tables, infrastructure, and support tools), but a con nonetheless.

Everyone had a wonderful time - there was tons of food, goofiness, and good gaming. We're planning on doing it again in six months.

Particular thanks to Mosaic and the community not only for helping out with some technical challenges, but for being a part of the crew that built an awesome common house that lets me DO stuff like this.

Folks took pictures, here's a quicky I did from my phone: http://twitpic.com/19tpht

That was a fantastic time! It was fun seeing all those folks in real life, plus it was great seeing folks via web-cam too. The chatter while folks were playing, both in the room and elsewhere, made a heart-warming din. Well, at least it did for some proud guild leader or other.
