I haven't been using 'shayde' as my go-to name in years (heck, almost a decade). The options for LJ renaming were limited (i used 'eidolon' for a while), but now I've settled on 'penk' (the name I use in WoW and other places). It's short, easy to remember, useable in conversation...

... and just became available in LJ from a purged account.

That's not quite as obsessive as ham radio people waiting months or years until the specific short Extra class callsign they want becomes available, and then ten people applying to the FCC for it the day it does. :) (I didn't do that, by the way - mine was available for a few years before I found it and realized, "Hmm, that has my initials in it.")
