The Arisia Ick nailed me Thursday. I spent a chunk of last night doing my best to function like an off-balance engine... I was shaking so hard I thought pieces were going to start flying off.

Let me just say there is magic in heating pads (we have one of those bean-shell pads you put in the microwave... 2 minutes in, then stuffed it down my shirt, ahhhhh. I almost cried)

Today I'm just worn. I think we'll be done shortly - the fever is mostly gone, but my bowels are doing things they're not supposed to.

Cat and Zach have headed off to do some Mosaic things, so I htink I'll curl up upstairs and watch a movie and bury myself in blankets.

Bleah.

I remember in college when everyone got slammed by the ick at the same time, we'd have pity parties. We'd all take turns dispensing aspirin and cough syrup and decongestant, so that someone was always drugged up enough to feel up to playing mommy to the others. We'd pile up the blankets and pillows and wallow and nap and sip soup and tea till we felt better. I wish geography would let us do that now-a-days!

I'm pretty sure that we've determined that our brand of ICK over here is, in fact, the flu. Alex was down from Saturday through Thursday (went to school Friday but was *really wiped* when he came home), Drew is still down and has been since Monday, and the same is true for Sarah. Sarah and Drew seem to have been hit harder than Alex (which is interesting since Alex's immune system is never the greatest).

I'm truly sorry if Alex was the vector for your family on Sunday. I'm told by Dwight and Sarah he didn't have a fever all day Sunday until the end of the meeting.

I'm sure it wasn't, I wasn't at the meeting at all, we were all at Arisia.

This seemst o be taking a large percentage of folks who were at arisia. I know of several folks who were down for a chunk of this week.

Unfrortunately, it's in the lingering stage right now, and I'm really just Done [tm] with it. :(

It looks like I'm over the hump. Today is FAR better than any of the previous days. So I'm hopeful.
