I've found a problem in how my postings from my blog are being posted into LJ. Seems like often the post would show up in LJ, but not actually show up in people's friends list. So I was wondering why I wasn't getting any feedback to this posting, which I spent a lot of time on, as well as this one, which was actually asking for some feedback :) - the reason is that probably most of you didn't even see the post.

Now that I know there's a problem, I can fix it anytime I post to the blog, and want to make sure the LJ audience sees it.

I retroactively fixed some of the posting, but if you think you might have missed something, go to http://planet-geek.com/ and take a quick browse!

Oh, excellent. I missed those. What was (is) the bug?

At least you found the reason for no responses. I'm seriously doubting that anyone reads my LJ at all, considering the thorough lack of response to my last post.

I wish I had read this post when you first put it out. I never went to a summer camp but the work this person has put into saving the signs and making the site shows the place was special.

Most of the time when I see posts from you they appear to have comments turned off, so giving you feedback is more difficult than it otherwise might be.

I have never (in my memory) posted anything that had comments turned off. Can you give me an example?

Essentially everything that comes across as "cloned from..." has comments off in the view I see. Scrolling back through your LJ I see that all entries that have that footer appear to have comments turned off.

Right, but every one of those has the footer saying "Full Article & Comments: [Link]" - where 'link' is a link to the article and the comments.

Is that not clear? I'm open to suggestions on how to make it clear...

Oh. I see. You want comments in the other blog. Hmm. I suppose I sort of saw that but when I didn't see a comment link (as I usually see on LJ entries) I just assumed you had turned off comments on purpose. Since you had turned off comments it didn't occur to me that I should click on that other link to make comments.

As I said in your next post, I hadn't even seen the one that preceded it. Every so often, LJ will publish a post in your own LJ, but not show it in your friends' friendslists. I have no idea why: phase of the moon?
