The company I work for is looking for Perl programmers!

We're a standard LAMP shop (with P == Perl in this case), running some pretty large scale MySQL databases. We're looking for Perl programmers who are familiar in particular with MySQL and CGI high availability installations. There's a lot of code in place that needs TLC!

Contact me for details - the pay is quite good, the company is healthy and growing (and well established), and the product isn't boring. :)

Hmmm... Do you think it's beyond my skills because of the high availability stuff? It's been a while since I've programmed in Perl, but I'd expect it to come back quickly. :)

Mmm, Perl, which I'd kept up with it, especially because I've got tons of MySQL experience :)

Sounds fun, I hope you find some great people!

Maybe? It's pretty complex code - might be frustrating to get up to speed on it - it's mostly analysis and digging through "how does this work" "how does that work" "why is this failing?" - I'm not a perl weenie, so I found the perl symantics really hard to work with, but someone who has Perl-Fu might do fine. I can submit your resume certainly :)

I'll mull a little more. I had a _really_ good convo with your boss when he called for your referral. :)

PHP and MySQL was what I dealt with mainly, I was trying to branch out a bit, real life gets in the way though ;)

Yeah, I feel that way when I contemplate trying to maintain a large and highly complex body of perl code. The people are out there, though; good luck! Can I ask about the nature of the business?
