It says a lot...
Jul. 9th, 2003 12:47 am... when you sit down with your 4 1/2 yr old son, and start going through old arcade games just showing him some of the old wonders. Straying away from "MEGA DEATH BLAST EM UP" sort of games, but go with the creative abstract ones.
Guess which one he absolutely adores. Wants to go back and play it, and watch it, and giggles at the little 'boo woo woo woo WEEP!' sound at the end of each guy?
Yes. Pac-man. He loves it. He thinks its the greatest thing since the rattle.
What games do you want to dig out of the closet and play over and over again? Mame.dk is back online, and I'm playing games again, which games have stood the test of time?
Here's my current "What I'm enjoying" in Mame:
Pacman - yes, it really is a durned good game
I, Robot - this one IS as good as I remember it
Dig Dug - just TRY to get that theme music out of your head
Arkanoid - Mmm, breakout
Reactor - A fantastic concept, needs controllers
Other games I haven't gotten into, because I don't have arcade controllers, but damn, looking at how good the emulators are, I might do it...
Marble Madness
Rip Off
Star Castle
Major Havoc
PC controllers, only $99. Mmmm.
