I need a way of viewing a google calendar in a way that shows date ranges from hour to hour.

If I have something scheduled from 7pm friday through 10pm sunday, I want to see a bar starting at 7pm friday and ending at 10pm sunday.

Is this possible?

the 'weekly' view does that i think... but vertically, not horizontally.

Try conecting to it with a compatible calendaring client! I used to use Mozilla lightning and apples own calendar client

yep, this is true.

In the multiple weeks view it will show as a multi day event with the start time on it but not the end time.

It does, but with some weirdnesses. If you put in 7 pm Friday to 10 pm Sunday, it shows up in the "all day" bar at the top, which isn't as useful.

The key to avoiding this is to avoid having an entire 24-hour span listed as one event; my most common work-around is to enter it separately for each day. (I usually just put in 6 am-11 pm on "all day" days, which is clear enough that I won't schedule anything during it, but I like how this appears in the main body of the week view -- which I always use -- rather than in that oh-so-ignorable bar at the top!)

This is precisely my problem. Had a schedulign snafu just happen where I wans't sure where a multi-day thing started and ended. And just saying '7pm fri -> 7pm sat' doesn't render well...

Grump.

Oh, huh. Blocks of less than twelve hours than span two days seem to render ok; so does, say 7 pm-midnight Fri, 1 am-11 pm Sat, 1 am-10 pm Sun (as three events). Neither is ideal, but they're my workaround :)

Yup. That's how it works.

If so I don't know how. I usually end up making repeating events for multi-day things. Annoying, especially when they have mid-day endpoints like you say.

I put things like that in as separate day chunks.
