Breaker breaker...
Jan. 3rd, 2011 11:45 amI've been having a problem with a breaker popping in the panel in the new house, so today I finally got around to taking a look at it.
First, this is one of the most awesome little tools I've ever used:
http://www.safetekusa.com/Product.aspx?ProductId=30345

Borrowed one of these from a coworker / electrician because a breaker in my panel keeps popping, and I was damned sure it wasn't a load issue. A 20 amp breaker that has a TV, 2 game systems, a laptop, a lamp, and a stereo receiver should NOT have that kind of draw.
So, pulled off the panel cover, powered up everything on that circuit, laid the clamp around it, and voila! 4.mumble amps.
Conclusion - one! (1)! Bad breaker!
Off to Lowes I go.
