... who would you call?

We're considering hiring on a bus service to get kids to and from Sudbury Valley from Mosaic / Camelot. Googling around shows a lot of one-off bus services (take folks to HERE one day), but not an organization that will provide a bus and driver every day.

Any suggestions on where to look / who to call?

For full-sized buses, Peter Pan will do this.

Arisia used Peter Pan. I was surprised to discover that they had better rates than Crystal Transport.

I'd call local schools and summer camps and see who they recommend.

This. Or, more particularly, your local Board of Education will have a contract in place with some company; they are likely to have spare capacity.

I grew up in upstate NY where everyone was bussed, for all practical purposes, as the elementary schools each served a five mile radius and there were eight towns supporting a middle school and a high school. There, the school district owned the bus fleet. I'm always slightly taken aback when I realize that the towns here don't.

i have an actual answer!

The private school for which I work (in Brookline) contracts annually with a company called Local Motion to run bus service to Newton and Sharon (as well as on a constant one-off basis for special events).

Normally I'd provide a link, but I'm on the Treo here. You know what to do. :-)

These are the folks coho/us uses for tours, too.

Yep, although they're expensive. The other local company I know of that does this kind of thing is Crystal Transport, and I think they operate as far out as Worcester.

Brandeis and Wellesley both used them for regular shuttle service into Boston when I was a student, though I think Wellesley has changed providers since then.
