As part of reworking some insurance stuff, I got to have an entire blood workup, soup to nuts....

Cut for those who really don't give a hoot...

It's quite a list, to be sure, I'll give you the highlights...

HIV, HEP-B, HEP-C, all negative

Cholesterol: 173
HDL Cholesterol ('good cholesterol') : 37.60
LDL Cholestrerol ('bad cholestrerol') : 110.60

According to webmd, these are good numbers. Considering I eat like crap, I'm pretty happy with this. :)

Triglycerides: 124
Webmd also thinks this is good. High levels here would mean I'm going way too heavy on the fats, and at risk of diabetes.

My NP, however, did mention I had a 'fatty liver' - which looking at the tests, an AST (SGOT) level seems to show that. So even though there's no other indicators, I'm probably still overdoing it on fatty foods. Yay being an american!

I'm working pretty hard to switch around my physical activity level - I've been too sedentary and eating too much junk the last 2 years (and in a heap of stress as well) - I'm sure those have not helped. Working to fix that now.

So, not dead yet!

From what I can find, it has a lot to do with obesity/overweight issues and/or alcohol consumption, and not dietary fats.
Did the dr say whether it was NAFLD or not?
